Head of People & Culture - Sheparton, Permanent full-time, Senior Leadership
About the Role
GMCU is looking for a Head of People & Culture responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring People & Culture Strategies in support of the successful delivery of GMCU’s Strategic Plan and priorities.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you’ll be responsible for GMCU’s People functions including Workplace Health Safety & Wellbeing, recruitment and retention, workplace relations, performance management, learning and development and in conjunction with the Executive team, employee engagement and culture.
Key responsibilities include, but not limited:
- Support the development, implementation, monitoring/reporting and evaluation of business strategy and planning.
- Develop and lead the delivery of workforce strategies with a key focus on organisational culture, diversity & inclusion, efficiency, performance and success measures.
- Lead team enablement and capability uplift through coaching, mentoring and professional development programs and frameworks.
- Develop relevant policies and procedures, including contributing to the development of business-wide frameworks where appropriate, ensuring these reflect legislative changes.
- Oversee the application of human resources frameworks, including the preparation of provision of related Board and management reports as required.
About You (Key Selection Criteria)
- Demonstrable commitment to purpose-led service delivery and GMCU’s Values of Stronger Together, Ambition & Growth, Enabling Members & Communities and Genuine & Authentic.
- Relevant experience and tertiary qualifications in HR/IR or related business field.
- Knowledge, understanding and application of relevant legislative requirements, as they relate to human resources, industrial relations and Workplace Health & Safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including demonstrated experience in liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and community organisations.
- Strong business acumen and ability to think strategically.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop a diverse team.
- Experience in preparing and presenting reports and information to a variety of stakeholders, including Board, management and broader groups.
- Ability to satisfy GMCU’s pre-employment screening requirements.
